Young Ku Park

My paintings of the night sky remind me of my childhood which was filled with a myriad of twinkling stars in the nebulae. At that time the stars was an unexplained object of fear, surprise, and admiration. Although the botanical shapes and stars in my memory is an abstract image, it is a meaningful idea because my interpretation of it came from my imagination. In my canvas, the viewers may notice trees, floating leaves, flowers, clouds, and a pond that in summation that depicts an image reminiscent of the landscape elements. However, my scenery factors do not depend on the representational approach, and realistic depiction. My representation is a hint to the surreal atmosphere on the other side of conscious world. Instead of a separation between the subjects, I utilized the combination of the ocean's mood and the objects in the galaxy in order to further express my portrait.
